Like no other digital business model, platforms have shifted the balance of power in many markets. A steadily growing share of value creation is shifting from the producer of a product to the interaction manager between supply and demand. Since platforms have many competitive advantages over traditional companies, they are valued much higher on the stock exchanges. 5 of the 10 largest companies in the world by market capitalization are platform businesses now.
The platform-index reflects the superiority of the platform business model on the stock exchanges.
We have developed an equity fund based on the platform index. More information on The Original Platform Fund can be found on our ⇢ fund website.
The platform-index comprises 15 third-generation platform shares equally weighted. The index is calculated weekly and compared to Dow Jones Industrial, Nasdaq Composite and Dax 30.*
